hrasvo 'kṣastadyugārdhañca dhruvādhāraṃ rathasya vai /
hayāś ca sapta chandāṃsi gāyatryādīni suvrata //
The shorter axle and half the yoke are supported by Dhruva for the chariot; / and the seven horses are the Vedic metres, Gāyatrī and the rest, O faithful observer of vows.
