pūrṇimā jyeṣṭhamāsasya mahājyauṣṭhī prakīrtitā //
When Jupiter is in the lunar mansion of Indra, the Moon likewise, and the Sun in that of Prajāpati,
the full moon of the month of Jyeṣṭha is proclaimed as the Mahājyaiṣṭhī.
