etanmūlamataḥ sarvaṃ jñāyate sacarācaraṃ /
vidyāpīṭhaṃ pravakṣyāmi praṇavaḥ śiva īritaḥ //
From this root, everything moving and unmoving is known. / I shall explain the throne of knowledge; the praṇava is declared to be Śiva.
