arjunaḥ pāṇḍavānāñca tayoryuddhaṃ babhūva ha /
śastrāśastri mahāraudraṃ devāsuraraṇopamam //
Arjuna [was commander] of the Pāṇḍavas, and a battle took place between the two: / weapon against weapon, exceedingly dreadful, resembling the war between the gods and asuras.
