ucchiṣṭasannidhāvekaṃ tathā piṇḍaṃ nivedayet /
kīrtayecca tathā tasya namagotre samāhitaḥ //
One should also offer a piṇḍa in the vicinity of the food leavings, / and, concentrated in mind, pronounce the name and gotra of the deceased.
