yaccheṣaṃ daśarātrasya tāvadevāśucirbhavet /
atikrānte daśāhe tu trirātramaśucirbhavet //
he remains impure only for whatever is left of the ten nights; / but if the ten days have elapsed, he remains impure for three nights.
