mṛtake sūtake vāpi rātrimadhye 'nyadāpatet /
taccheṣeṇaiva suddhyeran rātriśeṣe dvyahādhikāt //
If another [death] occurs during the night in the case of a death or birth, / they become pure with the remainder of that [period], or by two extra days if it falls at the end of the night.
