pratipatprabhṛtiṣvetānvarjayitvā caturdaśīṃ /
śastreṇa tu hatā ye vai teṣāṃ tatra pradīyate //
On these [days] beginning with the first lunar day, excluding the fourteenth lunar day; / but for those who were killed by a weapon, [an ancestral rite] is offered on that [fourteenth day].
