athavā gārdhabhañcarma vasitvābdañcarenmahīṃ /
hatvā garbhamavijñātaṃ brahmahatyāvrataṃ caret //
Or, clad in an ass’s hide, he should wander over the earth for a year. / Having killed an embryo of unknown sex, he should perform the votive observance for killing a Brahmin.
