sarvasvaṃ vā vedavide brāhmaṇāyopapādayet /
vratair etair vyapohanti mahāpātakino malaṃ //
or he should bestow his entire property upon a Brahmin who knows the Veda. / By these votive observances, those guilty of major sins remove their stain.
