mucyate pātakaiḥ sarvair japtvā triraghamarṣaṇaṃ /
vedajapyādvāyuyamād gāyatryā vratato 'dyahā(1) //
One is freed from all mortal sins by reciting the Aghamarṣaṇa thrice, / [or] destroys sin today by reciting the Vedas, by breath-control, by the Gāyatrī, and by votive observance.
