sarvapāpagrahādibhyo yāti viṣṇoḥ paraṃ padaṃ /
tasmāt pāpe kṛte japyaṃ stotraṃ sarvāghamardanaṃ //
From all sins, planetary afflictions, and the like, he goes to the supreme abode of Viṣṇu. / Therefore, when a sin is committed, this praise, which destroys all sin, is to be recited.
