goṣṭhe śayo go 'nugāmī gopradānena śuddhyati /
kṛcchrañcaivātikṛcchraṃ vā pādahrāso nṛpādiṣu //
Sleeping in a cowshed, following cows, he is purified by the gift of a cow. / [He performs] a kṛcchra or an atikṛcchra penance; there is a reduction of a quarter in the case of kings and others.
