abdamupoṣitaḥ svargaṃ gacchenna narakaṃ vratī /
aśūnyaśayanaṃ vakṣye avaidhavyādidāyakaṃ //
having fasted [on this day] for a year, the observer of the vow goes to heaven and does not enter hell. / I shall declare the Aśūnyaśayana [vow], which averts widowhood and brings other benefits.
