vastrahemādikaṃ dadyādbrāhmaṇān bhojayedvratī /
janmāṣṭamīvratakaraḥ putravānviṣṇulokabhāk(4) //
The observer of the vow should give garments, gold, and other gifts, and feed brāhmaṇas. / One who performs the Janmāṣṭamī votive observance obtains sons and participates in the world of Viṣṇu.
