agnir uvāca
ekādaśīvrataṃ vakṣye bhuktimuktipradāyākaṃ /
daśamyānniyatāhāro māṃsamaithunavarjitaḥ(1) //
Agni said: / I will proclaim the votive observance of the eleventh lunar day, which grants worldly enjoyment and liberation. / On the tenth lunar day, one should be restrained in diet, abstaining from meat and sexual intercourse.
