upavāsena bhaikṣyeṇa caivaṃ dvādaśikavratī /
caitre māsi site pakṣe dvādaśyāṃ madanaṃ hariṃ //
by fasting, or by begged food—thus one who observes the vow of the twelfth lunar day [observes it]. / In the month of Caitra, in the bright fortnight, on the twelfth lunar day, one worships Hari as Madana.
