kṛṣṇāṣṭamyāntu naktena tathā kṛṣṇacaturdaśīṃ /
iha bhogānavāpnoti paratra ca śubhāṅgatiṃ //
Taking only a single night-time meal on the eighth of the dark fortnight, and likewise on the fourteenth of the dark fortnight, / he obtains enjoyments in this world, and an auspicious state in the next.
