sthānametadvacaḥ śrutvā rājāthodañcane 'kṣipat /
tatra vṛddho 'bravīdbhūpaṃ pṛthu dehi padaṃ mano //
place.' Hearing these words, the king then cast it into a water vessel.
There, having grown, it said to the king: 'Give me a wide place, O Manu!'
