māsopavāsī yaddeśe sa deśo nirmalo bhavet /
kiṃ punastatkulaṃ sarvaṃ yatra māsopavāsakṛt //
In whichever region one who fasts for a month dwells, that region becomes stainless; / how much more the entire family wherein lives a performer of the month-long fast!
