hṛdi dhyāyan harijñānaṃ(1) mantreṇāṣṭākṣareṇa hi /
tridhā pāṇitale mṛtsnāṃ digbandhaṃ siṃhajaptataḥ //
Meditating in one's heart on Hari with knowledge, indeed using the eight-syllable mantra, / [placing] the clay in threefold division on the palm, one secures the directions with [the clay] consecrated by the Narasiṃha [mantra].
