mūlantu tryaṅgulaṃ(2) yonyā agraṃ tasyāḥ ṣaḍaṅgulaṃ /
lakṣaṇañcaikahastasya dviguṇaṃ dvikarādiṣu //
The base of the yoni is three finger-breadths; its tip is six finger-breadths. / This is the characteristic of [a pit of] one cubit; in those of two cubits and so forth, it is doubled.
