agnir uvāca
catuṣpādaṃ dhanurvedaṃ vede pañcavidhaṃ dvija /
rathanāgāśvapattīnāṃ yodhāṃścāśritya kīrtitaṃ //
The Science of Archery.
Agni said:
O twice-born, the science of archery has four feet and is known in tradition as fivefold, / proclaimed in reliance on warriors belonging to chariots, elephants, horses, and foot-soldiers.
