kṣayaṃ vṛddhiñca baṇijā paṇyānāmavijānatā /
krītvā nānuśayaḥ kāryaḥ kurvan ṣaḍ bhāgadaṇḍabhāk //
A merchant who does not know the rise and fall [in value] of commodities / should not entertain regret after buying; if he does, he incurs a fine of the sixth share.
