yasya luptaṃ vrataṃ mohādvrātyair vā saṃsṛjetsaha /
upoṣyājyaṃ sa juhuyāttvamagne vratapā iti //
If one's votive observance has lapsed through delusion or if one has associated with outcasts, / having fasted, he should offer clarified butter with the verse, "You, O Agni, are the protector of votive observances" (tvamagne vratapāḥ).
