sahasrakṛtvaḥ pañcāhaṃ tenāyurvindate mahat /
idaṃ medhyeti juhuyāt ghṛtaṃ prājñaḥ sahasraśaḥ //
He should do this a thousand times for five days; through that [friend] attains a long life. / A wise man should offer clarified butter thousands of times with "This sacrificial..." (idaṃ medhya...).
