puṣkara uvāca
devapūjādikaṃ karma vakṣye cotpātamardanam /
āpohiṣṭeti tisṛbhiḥ snāto 'rghyaṃ vioṣṇaverpayet //
Puṣkara said: / I will speak of the rite consisting of worship of the gods and the like, which crushes portents. / Having bathed, one should offer water offering to Viṣṇu with the three verses beginning with 'āpo hi ṣṭhā'.
