bhedaḥ sāṅkhyāyanaś caika āśvalāyano dvitīyakaḥ /
śatāni daśa mantrāṇāṃ brāhmaṇā dvisahasrakaṃ //
One division is the Sāṅkhyāyana, and the second is the Āśvalāyana; / there are ten hundred mantras, and the Brāhmaṇa [portion] contains two thousand.
