hareṇa dhāritaṃ kaṇṭhe nīlakaṇṭhastato 'bhavat(3) /
tato 'bhūdvāruṇī devī pārijātastu kaustubhaḥ //
It was held in the throat by Hara, who thereby became the blue-throated Nīlakaṇṭha.
Then arose the goddess Vāruṇī, the Pārijāta tree, and the Kaustubha gem.
