agnir uvāca
japan vai pañcapañcāśadviṣṇunāmāni yo naraḥ /
mantrajapyādiphalabhāk tīrtheṣvarcādi cākṣayam //
Agni said:
The man who recites the fifty-five names of Viṣṇu
obtains the fruit of mantra recitation and the rest, and imperishable [merit] from worship and other rites at sacred fords.
