pare pūrṇaṃ pare pūrṇaṃ meruprastārato bhavet /
nagasaṃkhyā vṛttasaṃkhyā cādhvāṅgulamadhordhataḥ /
saṅkhyaiva dviguṇaikonā chandaḥsāro 'yamīritaḥ //
Filled in the subsequent, filled in the subsequent, through the Meru expansion it arises: / the number of meters, the calculation of verses, the distance in finger-breadths from below to above; / the number doubled and diminished by one. This essence of metrics has been declared.
