na karālo na lamvoṣṭho nāvyakto nānunāsikaḥ /
gadgado bahujihvaś ca na varṇān vaktum arhati //
One who has protruding teeth, who has pendulous lips, who is indistinct, who is nasal,
who stammers, or who has a multiple tongue is not fit to utter the sounds.
