vāgvidyāsampratijñāne rītiḥ sāpi caturvidhā /
pāñcālī gauḍadeśīyā vaidarbhī lāṭajā tathā //
In the proper understanding of the lore of speech, poetic style (rīti) is also of four kinds: / Pāñcālī, Gauḍadeśīyā, Vaidarbhī, and likewise that born in Lāṭa (Lāṭī).
