śrūteralabhyamāno 'rtho yasmādbhāti sacetanaḥ /
sa ākṣepo dhaniḥ syācca dhvaninā vyajyate yataḥ //
Because a meaning not directly obtained from hearing shines forth as endowed with consciousness, / that is paralipsis; and it is suggestion, because it is manifested through resonance.
