vakṣye vyākaraṇaṃ sāraṃ siddhaśabdasvarūpakam /
kātyāyanavibodhāya bālānāṃ bodhanāya ca //
Skanda said: / I shall declare the essence of grammar, the nature of perfected words, / for the understanding of Kātyāyana and for the instruction of children.
