pavitraṃ snānakāle ca avatārya samarpayet /
anivāritamannādyaṃ dadyādbhuṅktetha ca svayaṃ //
And taking off the sacred thread at the time of bathing, he should offer it [again]; / he should give unrestricted food and other provisions, and then eat himself.
