ghaṭāḥ sthāpyāś ca pūrvādau vedikāyāś ca koṇagān /
caturaḥ sthāpayet kumbhānājighreti ca mantrataḥ //
are the pots to be placed, beginning in the east; and at the corners of the altar / one should place four pots with the mantra, "Smell [the jar]."
