kāṇḍānnirmañchanaṃ kuryādgandhaṃ gandhavatīti ca /
unnayāmīti(1) mālyañca idaṃ viṣṇuḥ pavitrakaṃ //

With "From the stem..." he should perform the waving-off rite; and perfume with "Possessing fragrance..."; / and a garland with "I lead up..."; a sacred thread with "This Viṣṇu...";
