bhagavānuvāca
kūpavāpītaḍāgānāṃ pratiṣṭhāṃ vacmi tāṃ śṛṇu /
jalarūpeṇa hi hariḥ somo varuṇa uttama //
The Lord said:
I declare the consecration of wells, stepwells, and reservoirs; listen to it.
For Hari is in the form of water, as Soma, and as excellent Varuṇa,
