snāpayitvā samabhyarcya yātrāvimbaṃ rathe sthitaṃ /
nayedgurur nadīrnādaiśchatrādyai rāṣṭrapālikāḥ //
Having bathed and thoroughly worshipped the festival icon mounted on a chariot,
the guru should lead it to rivers with musical sounds, umbrellas, and the like, [accompanied by] the guardians of the realm.
