tīrthakṣetrakhaleṣvaṣṭau mṛttikāḥ syurghaṭāṣṭake //
From the horn of a cow, a horse, the Gaṅgā, and the tusk of a lordly elephant,
and from a sacred ford, a field, and a threshing floor—these should be eight soils in eight pots.
