māyāmṛgo 'sau saumitre yathā tvamiha cāgataḥ /
tathā sītā hṛtā nūnaṃ nāpaśyat sa gato 'tha tām //
“This was an illusion-deer, O son of Sumitrā! Just as you have come here,
so surely Sītā has been abducted.” Then, going there, he did not see her.
