īśvara uvāca
pavitrārohaṇaṃ vakṣye kriyārcādiṣu pūraṇaṃ /
nityaṃ tannityamuddiṣṭaṃ naimittikamathāparaṃ //
Īśvara said:
I shall explain the investiture with sacred thread (pavitrārohaṇa), which makes rites, worship, and the like complete;
it is designated as regular (nitya), and the other as occasional (naimittika).
