īśvara uvāca
vakṣye damanakārohavidhiṃ pūrvavadācaret /
harakopāt purā jāto bhairavo damitāḥ surāḥ //
The Lord said: / I shall declare the rite of investiture with the damanaka plant; one should perform it as before. / In ancient times, Bhairava was born from Hara's wrath, and the gods were subdued.
