mūlena śeṣaṃ pātrasthaṃ pidhāyātha pavitrakaṃ /
prātaḥ snātvā jagannāthaṃ gandhapuṣpādibhiryajet(2) //
Having covered the remainder of the sacred thread resting in the vessel with the root mantra, / having bathed in the morning, he should worship the Lord of the world with fragrant paste, flowers, and the like.
