sīmante janmato nāmakaraṇāya ca homayet /
śatāni pañca mūlena vauṣaḍādidaśāṃśataḥ //

for hair-parting (sīmanta), and for name-giving (nāmakaraṇa) after birth, he should offer oblations: / five hundred [oblations] with the root-mantra, [concluding with] “vauṣaṭ” and other formulas, down to a tenth portion.
