svāntatryātmaguṇavyaktiriha puṃsavanaṃ mataṃ /
māyātmanorvivekena jñānaṃ sīmantavardhanaṃ //

The manifestation of the soul's own quality of autonomy is regarded here as the rite for producing a male child (puṃsavana); / the knowledge arising from discrimination between Māyā and the Self is the growth of the parted hair (sīmantavardhana);
