rakṣaṇāya ghaṭādhastādāropya kṣaṇamātrakaṃ /
śivādājñāṃ samādāya dadīta yatine guruḥ //
Having placed them under the jar for just a moment for protection, / and obtaining permission from Śiva, the guru should present them to the ascetic.
