īśvara uvāca
sandhānamatha vidyāyāḥ prācīnakalayā saha /
kurvīta pūrvavat kṛtvā(1) tattvaṃ varṇaya tadyathā //
The Lord said: / Then one should perform the conjunction of Vidyā with the preceding kalā / having done as before. Describe the principles, namely as follows:
