mātṛkāmaṣṭavargāḍhyāṃ phalake bhuvi vā likhet /
śalyajñānaṃ vargavaśāt pūrvādīśāntataḥ(6) kramāt //
He should write the syllabary rich in eight groups on a board or on the ground
The knowledge of foreign matter is by virtue of the groups, in order from the east ending with the northeast.
